| Description |
English: RAF Air/Sea Search and Rescue Avro Shackleton with Saunders-Roe airborne lifeboat slung underneath. A late-model X-band H2S/ASV radar can be seen in the clear nose radome. The dolly under the aircraft is used to move the lifeboat on the ground. NOTE: It appears this aircraft was WB835, which was sent to Martlesham Heath on 26 November 1951 for tests of the lifeboat fit. That would imply the radar is an ASV.7, likely an A model. |
