Summary[edit]

Description
English: Chief Petty Officer Joseph D. Lacue (center), of Aransas Pass, Texas, an instructor at the Coast Guard's Aviation Electronics Technician "A" School, explains the function and proper sequence for turning on each of the multifunction display screens aboard an MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter simulator to two of his students, Airman Basil Stowe (l.), of Northport, Mich., and Airman Anthony Morris, of North Port, Fla., March 18, 2014. The 56-week AET school, one of three Class "A" Schools at ATTC that provide initial rate-specific training, teaches students entry-level ability to inspect, service, and maintain a wide variety of aircraft electrical, communication, navigation, auto flight, and sensor avionics systems. In the third phase of the school, which lasts seven weeks, students learn about avionics and navigation systems. Following graduation, AETs may be assigned to either rotary or fixed-wing aircraft, where they might fill aircrew positions including navigator, flight mechanic, radio operator, sensor systems operator, or basic aircrewman.
