Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Appalachian Mountains are a mountain range in the eastern part of North America, extending from Canada through the eastern United States to Alabama. Every year, with the onset of autumn, they turn into a colourful canvas. This image, acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 25 October, shows the mountains of West Virginia covered with trees that have turned vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, and gold. The Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites provide comprehensive information on the state of natural areas with dense vegetation, helping to monitor and conserve biodiversity around the world.
