Summary[edit]

Description

The "Réserve Naturelle Domaniale des Hautes Fagnes", a 46 sqkm-large State Nature Reserve in the Eastern Ardennes, is covered by extensive heatlands and raised bogs. This area is well-known for its glacial relict fauna and flora, and holds a small isolated population of the Black Grouse (Tetrao tetrix). The reserve is currently undergoing extensive restoration efforts in the frame of a EU-cofunded LIFE-Nature project.
