Summary[edit]

Description

The Auditorium Building in Chicago, built in 1889, is the National Historic Landmark and one of the best-known designs of Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan. It was originally built as the Chicago opera house, and now part of the building is the Auditorium Theatre. Note that the sidewalk arcade was created in the 1950s through the building in order to widen the street.
