Les ravages causés par les incursions des Iroquois ayant
forcé les Algonquins à quitter leur pays et à venir se placer
sous la protection des Français à Québec, les missions de ce
côté furent peu à peu abandonnées et ce n'est seulement
qu'en 1830 quelles furent reprises et continuées jusquà ce
jour. De 1839 à 1844, ces missions furent faites par des prê-
