| Description |
English: Another MTA poster telling commuters about the temporary closure of the Astoria Boulevard Rapid Transit Station, on the BMT Astoria Line in the Astoria section of Queens, New York City. Between March 17, and sometime in December 2019, the station was closed for a major reconstruction project that added four new elevators for ADA complicity, rehabilitation of the platform level staircases, reconfiguration of the mezzanine, and the raising of the entire line above the portion of the Grand Central Parkway used by Interstate 278 in order to prevent strikes by trucks or other over-height vehicles (i.e. double-decker buses) traveling beneath the elevated station . Like many of these posters, they advise commuters of alternate trains and buses they could use to get to their respected destinations. Or they could just walk to the next station, which was what I did. |
