Thus an Association would seek to servethe community which it represents as well as its members. c. Forms of service Association educational work as a whole, with its increas-ing variety of activities, its altruistic objective, its specialemphasis on pioneer service, its aid and stimulation to othereducational efforts, all make it a most practical form ofChristian social service. But there are some added formsof social service, closely related to the Association as asupplemental educational agency: (1) To establish, or improve public educational facili-ties for industrial training, citizenship and moral instruction,vocational guidance, and continuation schools. (2) To cooperate with schools, libraries, parents, em-ployers, truant officers and others to keep boys in school.This is an attempt to prevent a most serious evil, ratherthan try to cure it later.
