Buckner. Venant d'Ecosse, il débarque à Utah Beach le 15 juillet. Après avoir rejoint Carentan à pied, l'ingénierie monte les tentes le 28 juillet. Les premiers patients sont admis le 14 août et deux semaines plus tard la capacité de l'hôpital est de 1000 lits.
