Summary[edit]
DescriptionAshby de la Zouch Canal, Market Bosworth - geograph.org.uk - 590537.jpg |
English: Ashby de la Zouch Canal, Market Bosworth The Ashby de la Zouch Canal was opened in 1804 to give an outlet for the Leicestershire coalfield. Today it is navigable only as far north as a point near Snarestone, beyond which mining subsidence has forced closure. The canal is notable in having no locks throughout its length, and is a popular but peaceful waterway. |
