Description
English: Ascension postage stamp, KGV, 1d, 1924 issue.

The ship depicted is an East Indiaman, The London built by Henry Johnson at Blackwall. Launched as the LONDON on 8 October 1658, 400 ton (bm). Sold for breaking up on 14 April 1676. Appears on several issues from different territories: Ascension 1924, 1979; St Helena 1922, 1934, 1938, 1953, and 1959; and Tristan da Cunha 1952, 1976, 1979, and 1984.
