Español: La ATM es la articulación que hace posible abrir y cerrar la boca. Es la articulación dónde la mandíbula se articula con el hueso temporal del cráneo, delante del oído y en cada lado de la cabeza. Se utiliza al masticar, hablar, tragar, bostezar, etc. Por ello, es una de las articulaciones más usadas en el cuerpo. Usted puede localizarla poniendo sus dedos delante de cada oído y presionando firmemente al abrir y cerrar la boca: el movimiento que sentirá ocurre en cada ATM. Trabajan siempre juntas y conducidas por cuatro pares de músculos que crean sus movimientos. Cuando las ATM funcionan correctamente, usted puede abrir y cerrar su boca sin dolor ni molestias. |
