He was thus a younger half-brother of King Edward II. Blazon: Royal arms of King Edward I (Plantagenet) differenced by a bordure argent. The arms were inherited by his grandson Thomas Holland, 2nd Earl of Kent (the eldest surviving son of Thomas Holland, 1st Earl of Kent, by his wife Joan "The Fair Maid of Kent", a daughter of Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent (by his wife Margaret Wake). |
