Carrara marmer. Herkomst Alyscamps. Einde 4de eeuw. Musée de l'Arles et de la Provence antiques. In de middelste niche ziet men Christus die het boek der wet overhandigt aan de apostel Petrus (rechts). Links staat Paulus en een apostel gescheiden door een palmboom met een feniks, symbool van de heropstanding. Verder scènes uit het leven van Christus. Het wassen van de voeten (links) en het oordeel van Pontius Pilatus (rechts). |
