Description
Deutsch: Alternative Darstellung der Windrose des Aristoteles auf Grundlage seiner Schrift 'Meteorologica'. Zur Darstellung wird davon ausgegangen, dass acht Hauptwinde (45 Grad) und vier Nebenwinde (22,5 Grad) auf der Kompassrose ihre Entsprechung mit modernen Himmelsrichtungen (N, NNO, NO, etc.) finden. Diese Zuordnung ist eine von mehreren Interpretationsmöglichkeiten. Sie ist so nicht direkt in Aristoteles Text enthalten. (Andere Interpretationen legen z.B. eine 30-Grad-Einteilung zugrunde.)
English: Alternative depiction of the wind rose of Aristotle, on the basis of his book 'Meteorologica'. This depiction assumes that eight winds are principal winds (45-degrees) and four are half-winds (22.5-degrees) on a compass rose, and thus their correspondence with modern compass directions (N, NNE, NE, etc.) This correspondence is one of several interpretations. It is not necessarily implied in Aristotle's text. (There are other interpretations, e.g. 30-degree angles each.)
