factory. See Danny Robinson's picture in different perspective https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/168449 . Road behind this building still called Doultons Drive, part of the fire brigade workshop. Raw materials used to be barged in from the Thames via arches which are still visible from river and into an old wharf on south side and under Albert embankment, which has been filled in now under fire brigade's yard. |
