Summary[edit]

Description
English: A 2D gas of hard disks bouncing off each other and subject to gravity. The large yellow disk experiences greater pressure at its base than at its top. This is why it is carried by the fluid like a hot air balloon. Archimedes' thrust is the sum of the pressure forces exerted on a solid immersed in a fluid. In a fluid in equilibrium under the effect of gravity it is directed upwards.
