English: Arborial Archway, Bo Peep Lane The lane leads up to Selmeston and the A27. The drives on either side are part of the Old Coach Road with Bo Peep Farm out of picture to the right. The crossroads was the site of a tollhouse and marked on the map as Bo Peep Gate, initially the turnpike ran west-east between 1752-92 when it was rerouted to head northwards up Bo Peep Lane until that route too was superseded by the turnpike opened in 1819 that is now the current A27 |
