Photographic image by Patrick Edwin Moran of Argiope aurantia, a large, beautiful weaver of spiral (orb) webs. These spiders are striking in appearance for protective purposes. Their venom is not greatly toxic to humans or other mammals. Uploaded 7 May 2005 (UTC)
