| Description |
English: Approaching Holt Road roundabout On Prince of Wales Road. The houses are Chesterfield Villas and Chesterfield Cottages. In 1747 this site was owned by Cromer Hall estate. Chesterfield House (now Chesterfield Lodge) and Villas were designed by architect David Brandon RIBA (1813-1897) and built for Benjamin Bond Cabbell of Cromer Hall in 1879. The property is named the Bond Cabbell's London home No 1, Chesterfield Gardens, just off Park Lane, Westminster, W1J. Chesterfield Lodge, Villas and Chesterfield Cottages and North and South Lodges to Cromer Hall were all built at the same time in a style known as cottage ornee. |
