| Description | An innovative design feature was included during the FHWA, Highways for LIFE supported Wisconsin DOT demonstration project on use of innovative technologies on WIS 25 between Nelson, WI and Wabasha, MN. Durability and extended service life were expected by having the bridge deck expansion joints relocated away from the deck to specially designed approach aprons and using high-strength stainless steel reinforcing bars between the approach apron and the abutment. |
