Location of Flood Channel. Two routes for a flood channel are worthy of consideration. Onewould be to continue the plan begun by the Indio Levee District by con-ducting the water north of Indio to the main natural channel throughthe valley northeast of Coachella and crossing the railroad at Thermal.The other would be to hold the water to the southwest side of the valleybelow Point Happy, allowing it to enter one of the natural channels inthe middle of the valley, towards Salton Sea.
