Aphrodisias Museum Aion or Eternity

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Aion, the eternity . He raises his right hand to his head in a gesture of foreboding and future knowledge like a seer. Wikipedia: Aion was a Roman deity, the partner of Tellus. He represented eternity, but is also equated with Uranus, the sky, while his partner, Tellus, is equated with Gaia, the earth. The two are depicted in a mosaic in the roman villa at Sentinum, the modern–day Sassoferrato.
