Summary[edit]

Description
English: shows the influence of aperture and exposure time (shutter speed) on the brightness of a photo:
  • upper left: large aperture and fast shutter gives a correct exposured photo but shows defocus blur.
  • upper right: with large aperture and slow shutter too much light passes to the film/sensor and the photo is overexposed.
  • lower left: with small aperture and fast shutter not enough light passes to the film/sensor and the photo is underexposed.
  • lower right: small aperture and slow shutter gives a correct exposured photo but shows motion blur.
