Summary[edit]

Description
English: The booklet one gets at the museum explains the building was built in memory of the early death of her son Fritz for Henriëtte van der Bergh, next to the house the family lived in. Famous architect Jos Hertogs bujilt it, with a front in renaissance style after a lost one in the St. Walpurgis area. Opened on 17-12-1904 it was modern, having climate and safety controls. In 1924 it opened for the general public (before that on request or by invitation), and in 1951 became a city museum.
