Summary[edit]

Description I stumbled upon this cemetery today at Antioch M.B. Church in Holmes County and took a few pictures. When I got home and saw that it wasn't already listed on Find-a-Grave, I fed the GPS coordinates into SkyLineGlobe and fell out laughing when it zoomed in on "Annie York Church." I don't know whether it was the accent of the informant who gave the name to the USGS surveyors or the ears of the USGS worker, but I found it pretty funny that Antioch turned into Annie York (and is thus listed that way on lots and lots of church lists -- fortunately, the cemetery wasn't included in the USGS survey, so Annie York Cemetery isn't showing up all over the place). I love the setting of this cemetery -- especially at this time of year with the cotton doing its thing in full force.
