Description Antiga Torre de controle do DTCEA-YS (DesTacamento de Controle do Espaço Aéreo) na Academia da Força Aérea (AFA) em Pirassununga. O DTCEA-YS foi criado em 22 de maio de 1959, com a missão de apoiar o voo de instrução da futura instalação da Academia da Força Aérea (AFA), primeiramente era chamada de Núcleo de Proteção ao Voo de Pirassununga (NPV). Passou a chamar-se Destacamento de Proteção ao Voo de Pirassununga (DPV), ativado em 1979, na Categoria "A", mudando para categoria especial, no ano de 1988. Atualmente o DTCEA-YS é responsável por uma área de controle de aproximadamente 30.000 km2, ocupando a quinta maior movimentação aérea no Brasil entre as áreas de controle terminais. O destacamento também coleta dados meteorológicos e condições atmosféricas, fornecendo informações de superfície aos aeronavegantes que cruzam o espaço aéreo da região no interior do estado de São Paulo. A organização militar está vinculada ao Cindacta 1, com sede em Brasília. Cada aeronave que chega ou sai da área Terminal de Pirassununga obrigatoriamente é monitorada e orientada pelos Controladores de Tráfego Aéreo (CTA) do DTCEA-YS.
