« Le peintre Henry Richard S. Bunnett (1845-1910) est né à Gênes en Italie. Il passe sa vie en Angleterre. Néanmoins, entre 1885-1889, il vient vivre à Montréal. Durant cette période, David Ross McCord, le fondateur du musée qui porte son nom, lui commande plus de 200 tableaux à l'huile représentant des vues de différents endroits du Québec. Plusieurs représentent des scènes de la ville de Québec. Cette vue de Wolfe’s Cove (anse au Foulon) se situe au pied de l’actuelle côte Gilmour et c’est précisément le chantier naval de ce marchand de bois qu’on aperçoit au premier plan. À droite, au pied de la falaise, on reconnait les habitations du quartier du Cap-Blanc. Immédiatement au-dessus, on devine la citadelle. Sur les plaines d’Abraham, la tour Martello no 1 domine le fleuve. Magnifique représentation d’une des faces de Québec sur laquelle Bunnett a réussi à donner des airs idéaliste et propret à un secteur industriel de la ville. » – Société historique de Québec
