. The Food Conservation Exhibit, prepared by the Depart-ment of Public Health, was shown in cooperation with the New York State and Federal Food Commissions at theHUbMi Grand Central Terminal in April and May. The United States Department of Agriculture pro-nounced it the best food exhibit yet prepared, and it has beenstudied and copied by food educators from widely separatedlocalities. The Liberty Field Hospital Ward, designed and constructedunder the direction of President Osborn, by Chief of Construc-tion H. F. Beers, has been exhibited in the Museum, at theGrand Central Palace and at the Pacific Coast Land and Indus-trial Exposition at Oakland, California. Plans for a Reconstruction Hospital, to be connected withthe laboratories and exhibition halls of the Mu- Reconstruc- Seum, for the accommodation of several hundredwounded men, were worked out by Mr. Carl E. Akeley, with the approval of the Surgeon Generals Office. The sudden cessation of the war brought this project to a close.
