We make the two following recommendations to the Conven-tion: 1. That the name of the Cooperative and Promotion Com-mittee be changed to The Promotion and Enlistment Commit-tee. 2. MRS. AMELIA ELLEN STALEY GWALTNEY She was a native of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, having been born there Septem-ber 8, 1S46. The daughter of Estley and Martha Cleveland Staley. Student atDavenport College, Lenoir, from which place she graduated in 1865. Married Rev.W. R. Gwaltney, January 30. 1866. She was the mother of nine children, foursons and five daughters, all of whom are living. At all times she was a constantand courageous companion to her pastor husband. They were indeed pioneers inthe Baptist faith in North Carolina and her efforts and labors for her church,missions, and denominational program continued steadfastly up to the time of herdeath, December 19, 1932.
