Dar!—The Federal engineers at Nashville resolved upon demolishingtlie old Blind Asylum building, in the suburbs of that city, it obstruct-ing their works. The walls were massive, and were mined to be blown upwith gunpowder. Several holes were dug at various points, the powderplaced, fuses prepared, &c., and a negro laborer was stationed over each,with a light, to touch them all at the same instant, upon a given eignaLSambo was very nervous, wondering, and excited,—too much so to succeed.
