| Description |
English: Animal on tower, St John the Baptist church, Marldon Good God, don't jump. Is it a dog? Probably - but it could be a bear. An animal appears at each corner of the tower, but do not seem to be associated with the church's dedication.
The tower has "a marked batter", as Cherry and Pevsner point out, so the wall is not vertical; the tower is wider at the base than the top. |
