Description

Andreas Christianus (Dries) Leander geboren op 25 oktober 1898 te Wageningen - overleden 12 november 1975 te Breda.

Andreas Christianus (Dries) Leander (1898-1975) was een telg uit een grote kermis familie. Die in de 18e eeuw al bekend was met de kermis. In die tijd beter bekent als Carrouselhouder, en nog vroeger Flierefluiter. Zijn grootvader, ook genaamd Andreas Christianus (Dries) Leander werd geboren in 1839 te Arnhem. Hij was van beroep Kramer, Carrouselhouder, Logementhouder in Nijmegen. In 1864 trouwde hij met Anne Maria Dahrs (1840-1879). Ze kregen 5 kinderen, waar van er 2 broers de kermis op gingen, het beroep dat hun voorvaderen al jaren daarvoor uitoefenden. De broers Antonius Hermanus Leander (1879- 1930) en Andreas Christianus (Dries) Leander (1876-1915) vader van de eerst genoemde. Deze trouwde met Louisa Betje Mulders in 1895 te Nijmegen. Ze verhuisden kort daarna naar Wageningen. Door zijn beroep, in die tijd Carrouselhouder trok hij door heel Nederland. In 1898 werd hun eerste zoon geboren, hij werd Andreas Christianus (Dries) genoemd. Hij trouwde met Fredrika (Riekie) Theunisz. Zij kregen een dochter en zeven zonen.
