Summary[edit]

Description A close up photo of the anchor bolt assembly used for the FHWA, Highways for LIFE project with Vtrans to replace the functionally obsolete two lane rural bridge using innovative technology. It also used integral abutments to eliminate deck joints and bearings at abutments and had a curbless, deck rail system. Due to difficulty in threading the stainless steel anchor bolts for the deck rail, VTrans plans to specify galvanized anchor bolts (here) for future bridges.
