Summary[edit]

Description 'We hold a vaster empire than beer'! An amusing jingle on an early Canadian postal stamp dating back to 1898. This is a large blow-up of that postage stamp in the Canada War Museum which shows the extent of the British Empire back then. Vast swathes of Canada were held by the British while other stretches were held by the French. Ottawa city itself is divided into the British half and the French half. (Ottawa, Canada, June 2015)
