| Description |
English: An angel at the grave Members of the Sloan family are buried here: Lawrence Gunn Sloan, the head of a major stationery firm in Kingsway (LG Sloan's Ink Eradicator etc.), his wife Edith and his son Barry (Lawrence Barrington Sloan, BA Cantab.) who died in 1918, aged 27, after 3 years internment at Ruhleben, a civilian POW camp in Germany. His father made efforts to get him and his brother Eric freed via an exchange of prisoners, seemingly without success. |
