| Description |
When I leave Orlando, I'll miss only a few things about the place: Friends, food, mild winters, and NASA. A rocket launch, as viewed from about 12 miles away. NASA and Patrick AFB send these up all the time. Ones at night in very nice weather are a bit rare, though. This is only my second in the ~5 years I've lived near Orlando. I don't have a remote shutter-release for my newer camera, so I instead took several separate shots and added them together at my computer. You can see the caesura while I reach over and press the shutter release again. There's no photoshopping here, other than merging the shots into one. Each 30 seconds, f/10, ISO100. Watching it go up is cool, but the rumble is cooler. (on Black) |
