O Atual Brasão de Armas do Município foi resultado de um estudo realizado por uma comissão de americanenses nomeados pela portaria 2.849 de 27 de agosto de 1993. Foi adotado através da lei municipal 3.152 de 17 de abril de 1998, assinada pelo Prefeito Municipal Dr. Waldemar Tebaldi. A lei traz em seu texto a seguinte descrição heráldice: “Escudo ibérico com goles (vermelho) tendo em chefe a Cruz de Santo Antonio – TAU (representando o Santo Padroeiro). Ao centro uma Colmeia entre duas abelhas (representando o trabalho de todas as colônias); em ponta dois machados em aspa (representando a fazenda que deu origem ao primeiro núcleo urbano); no centro, a sinistro uma roca (representando a atividade têxtil) e a destro um arado representando a colaboração dos norte-americanos) tudo em ouro. O escudo é encimado por uma coroa mural em prata, tendo suas portas abertas em goles (vermelho). Como suporte a destro um galho de café frutificado ao natural e a sinistro uma haste de algodão florido, também ao natural (representando as culturas do início), entrecruzados em ponte sobre os quais se sobrepõem um listel de goles (vermelho) tendo em divisa “EX LABORE DULCEDO” em letras de ouro.” Segundo o Prof. De latim Leandro Abel Vendemiatti da FAM – Faculdade de Americana o significado da divisa “EX LABORE DULCEDO” é “Do trabalho vem a doçura”. |
