The Colonial Kitchen and the Diet Kitchen Beyond time to time to guests, whenarranged for, and are servedas were the old-fashioneddinners of Colonial days.The atmosphere of the roomcarries one back to the daysof our ancestors. Against the side wall fac-ing the entrance door is adresser, a duplicate of one inthe Van Cortlandt Manor.Its shelves are filled withtreasures of china, pewterand brass. An old coffee-pot from Dresden, and oldvvillowware from Peters-burg, Va., harmonize withthe old pewter, many piecesof which are of great value.The window-seat beneaththe latticed windows is al-ways gay and cheerful withflowers and potted plants.Tea is served at this end ofthe room from four to sixevery day.
