English: American Red Cross Service Club, Norwich- Life at the Club at the Bishop's Palace, Norfolk, England, UK, 1943 In the entrance hall of the American Red Cross Service Club at the Bishop's Palace in Norwich, American soldiers Staff Sergeant J F Boyer Jr (of 6301 Edwood Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio) and Pfc Bill Makrooginis (of Butler, Pennsylvania) wait for their mending. Behind the counter, sewing buttons onto the men's jackets are Mrs Trappes Lomax (wife of a British Brigadier in Iraq) and Mrs Hildesley (married to an RAF air gunner). A third member of the staff can also be seen. |
