Italiano: "Dipinto ad olio su tela di formato rettangolare con cornice in legno intagliato e dorato. Vittorio Amedeo II è ritratto giovanetto (9 o 10 anni) a 1/2 figura, testa quasi di fronte, in corazza al petto coperta dal manto rosso e adorna di cravatta bianca. Tiene la mano sinistra al fianco"
English: So-called Portrait of Victor Amadeus II of Savoy (1666-1732), but is probably a depiction of one of his sons: Victor Amadeus, Prince of Piedmont (1699-1715) or Carlo Emanuele III of Sardinia (1701-1773).
  • Identification proposed by user Ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with some portraits of these princes (see images below) and the lack of physical resemblance of the sitter of this portrait to verified representations of Victor Amadeus II as a child.
