| Description |
English: Alsager station platforms. Since 2003 when an earlier view was taken 357950 the railway through Alsager has been electrified and resignalled as part of the West Coast Route Modernisation. That not only means visible changes such as the overhead catenary and bi-directional signalling, but also more journey opportunities. The train seen leaving the station here is an electric "Desiro" unit operated by London Midland, and was nearly at its destination of Crewe, having left London nearly 3 hours earlier on a "stopping "service via Northampton and Stoke-on-Trent. |
