Description
English:
Serházzugi Holt-Tisza, dam between ~lakes, Alsó Böge (Lower Böge), and middle Böge. About Serházzugi Holt-Tisza: it is horseshoe shaped backwater. Facts: created in 1854 after made the 84th cutting ('cut through') on the Tisza River, length: 7,5 km, average width: 174 m, area:130ha, average waterdepth: 2m and water volume: 2,6 million m3. The crossover dams divide the backwater into three part called böge 'Böge' mean: ~pit, recess. Longest, cirka 5km is the Alsó Böge (Lower Böge), the middle Böge is around Aranysziget (~Golden Island) 1.1km long; the 'Györgyvíz' (George water) is the name ofthe upper Böge. - Csongrád, Csongrád-Csanád County, Hungary.
