Description
English: Three portraits of chieftesses by J. Alphonse Pellion, the artist who accompanied French explorer Louis de Freycinet to the Sandwich Islands (now the Hawaiian Islands) on board the Uranie. The portraits are, from left to right, of Kamāmalu, the queen consort of King Kamehameha II; Keouawahine, the wife of Kuakini, the Chief of Kailua or Governor of Hawaii Island; and Likelike, one of the wives of the Prime Minister Kalanimoku.
