Summary[edit]

Description

TRUE-TONAME STRAWBERRY PLANTS
Early Woodrow (see page 22). Will become a great shipping berry
MEDIUM-EARLY STRAWBERRIES, continued
place as a canning berry. In flavor it is milder and
more delicious than Senator Dunlap. The berries
are excellent shippers and splendid keepers. The
calyx is a bright green, and the seeds are yellow,
making a beautiful color combination. In short, the
Dr. Burrill is an ideal berry for either home use or
for market. This great variety is a strong bisexual,
and has a very long-blooming season, making it
unequaled as a pollenizer for pistillate varieties.
Its blossoms are large, hardy, and well developed."
Our stock of plants, which we procured from the
introducer, have made a very good growth and we
hope to have sufficient to supply all of our customers,
who want to try out this splendid new variety.
Price, S5 per 1.000.

EARLY JERSEY GIANT. V™' 13 ?*
best of a
number of hybrids produced by Dr. Walter Van Fleet,
of New Jersey. It ripens medium early. The berries
are large, brilliant crimson, conical with pointed
tips. They ripen evenly all over, have a delightful
aroma, and are most excellent in quality. The fruit
is uniformly large and has large green caps which
make it very showy and attractive. The blossoms
are large and perfect. The plant is a strong grower
and heavy yielder. We consider it one of the largest
and best of the early varieties. The plants are large,
strong, and healthy and, as grown on our soil, the
roots are often 10 to 12 inches or more in length,
making it a good drought-resister. It is firm enough
to ship well and with its handsome appearance and
good qualities it will bring the very highest prices
,on any market. We confidently recommend this
as one of the very best medium-early fancy berries
that will give satisfaction wherever grown.
Price, $5 per 1,000.
