Summary[edit]

Description
English: All Saints Church, Wacton, Norfolk, monumental brass inscribed in Latin, translated as: "Here lies Abigal Sedly, widow, daughter of John Knyvett of Ashwouldthorp, Esquire, and late the wife of Martin Sedly of Morley, Esquire, which lady died the 15th of December AD 1623". Below are shown the arms of Knyvett (of which family was Baron Berners): Argent, a bend sable a bordure engrailed of the last, with a crescent for difference. Here shown in a lozenge appropriate for a female. The lozenge has been incorrectly repositioned on the wall and requires to be rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise.

All Saints church > 1355796 has a Saxon round tower which narrows towards the top and there is no separation between nave and chancel to be seen in the roofline. Sadly, this church is kept locked but on occasion of a display of wedding photographs in the church the door was open over a weekend, and it was possible to take photographs of the interior. All Saints church has timber-panelled roofs and modern furnishings > 1373948 - 1373986. A C14 rood screen > 1373954 has survived as has the piscina and triple sedilia > 1373962 dating from the same time, and an octagonal font > 1374000 dating from the 15th century. Of interest are also the C18 altar rails and a wineglass pulpit > 1373968.
