Summary[edit]
DescriptionAlkaline Earths Spectra.png |
English: Spark spectra of beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, and barium taken using a 12V circuit, diffraction grating, and phone camera. It's worth noting that all but the first are very reactive metals and had to be sparked in a current-controlled setup, as too much electricity can ignite them. The last three certainly made some dramatic sparks, like tiny pyrotechnics, even in a controlled circuit. |
