Alicia Alonso, directrice du ballet national de Cuba, entourée des deux étoiles, saluant lors de la dernière représentations de Giselle au Grand Palais à Paris.

A gauche : Viengsay Valdès dans le rôle de Giselle ; à droite : Romel Frometa dans le rôle d'Albrecht, le prince.

Dans le cadre de la 3e edition du festival ?Les étés de la danse de Paris?, le Ballet National de Cuba a présenté deux ballets du répertoire classique, Giselle et Don Quichotte.

Cette compagnie a proposé aussi des portes ouvertes permettant d?assister aux cours et à des démonstrations des jeunes danseurs.

Le Ballet National de Cuba a été créé en 1948 par Madame Alicia Alonso, danseuse devenue chorégraphe et actuellement directrice artistique de la compagnie, malgré son âge et sa cécité.
