Summary[edit]

Description
English: Algal Domes. The lumpy rock features were formed in the early Carboniferous by algae. The domes consist of alternating laminae of calcite mud and algal debris on a calcareous mudstone base. They probably formed in a low intertidal or shallow subtidal environment. For a smaller section see 1393381 and for a detailed view of one dome see 1393239.
