Description
English: Copy of death certificate of Alexander Millar Nelson (see 'Nelson Family Tree'), born in Girvan on 2 January 1885 to parents Alexander Marland (1858-1932) and Helen née Millar (1858-1927). On 21st July 1915 Alexander married Joanna "Mary" Henry (born in Girvan on 28 September 1879) and together they had three children, Alexander "Henry", Hugh Arthur and Helen "Ella" (who married Andrzej Grodyński grandson of Andrzej Kusionowicz and author of The Grodyński Brigade). Mary passed away in Colmonell, South Ayrshire, on 5th August 1946 and Alexander passed away in Irvine, North Ayrshire, on 20th January 1972.


[Mary and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Henry {who married Alexander "Sandy" Fyfe Ross and had children Alexander Charles Ross (1902-1984) and Agnes Arthur Ross (1906-1993, married to William "Bill" Veitch)} were among five other children (and perhaps more) of Agnes Arthur {1837-1896, daughter of David Arthur, born 5 February 1804 in Kirkmichael, and Janet 'Jessie' Jack, born 25 July 1813 in Craigie, who together had nine other children)} and Hugh Henry whom she married in 1868. {Hugh Henry had a number of children already from his first marriage in 1855 to Mary McClure and Agnes Arthur had previously been married in 1859 to James Lindsay (born 1834 in Colmonell) with whom she had a daughter Janet Jack Lindsay.}]
